😉 Alice's Corner: A guide to baby's first foods - CLEVERTIFY

October 22, 2021 1 min read

Your little one is changing, growing, and discovering at a whirlwind pace. Making sure they’re getting the foods they need may be a concern but worry not! Here's a trusty list of food guide to give your growing little one;

6 months:

  • Well-cooked meat (Pureed)
  • Infant cereal with milk (breast milk or formula)
  • Pureed vegetables (Cooked)
  • Mashed fruits (Soft fruits)

9 months:

  • Well-cooked meat (minced or finely chopped)
  • Cooked vegetables cut into small, ½ inch pieces
  • Sliced and quartered soft fruits

12 months:

  • Soft, shredded meat, poultry or fish
  • Small pieces of cooked veggies
  • Small pieces of soft fruits
  • Mixed food dishes the family is eating in tiny sized pieces

How much food should you serve?

Parents tend to over feed their little ones and it can do more damage than good so it is way better to communicate with your kid and let them decide if they are still hungry or not.  If your little one seems uninterested with the food then they're probably already full.  Remember not to force anything. Baby-led weaning can be a very ideal practice to observe as it causes fewer mealtime battles, healthier eating behaviors, greater convenience, and possible developmental advantages.
